PentaBase is currently developing its own SARS-CoV-2 Real-Time PCR Test for use on standard real-time PCR equipment,
expected to be released in the last week of March
The PentaBase SARS-CoV-2 Real-Time PCR Test is based on officially recommended WHO designs for detection of SARS-CoV-2 and added our proprietary INA® technologies.
The PentBase SARS-CoV-2 Real-Time PCR Test combines 2019-nCoV N1 and N2 assays with human RNAse P internal control and shows improved target sensitivity and specificity compared to assays based on standard DNA and thereby reducing the risk of false positive results.

SARS-CoV-2 N3 Real-Time PCR amplification plots using standard DNA oligonucleotides (WHO sequences, left) compared to the PentaBase SARS-CoV-2 Real-Time PCR Test (modified WHO sequences, right). Assays were evaluated using SARS-CoV-2 N3 template (red lines), human wild type DNA (blue lines), and no template control (green lines).
